Why do we grow mushrooms?

WE GROW MUSHROOMS OUT OF PASSION AND BELIEF IN WHAT WE DO
Because we love mushrooms and more and more people do too. Mushroom consumption is growing rapidly, both in Catalonia and elsewhere. What used to be a seasonal food has now become a year-round staple for many families and restaurants.
The ability of mushrooms to make dishes more nutritious and flavorful, along with their reputed health benefits, has contributed to this trend.
To meet this growing demand and avoid the overexploitation of forests, mushroom cultivation is proving to be an excellent solution.

TO IMPROVE AND ENRICH OUR DIET
Mushrooms have a nutritional composition that supports a more sustainable and varied diet, making them highly attractive for several reasons:
- They are a healthy, natural source of protein
- They have a very low fat content (between 2% and 8%)
- They are a good source of vitamins such as B, B2, C, and folic acid. They also contain significant amounts of potassium, phosphorus, sodium, calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc.

CIRCULAR AND REGENERATIVE ECONOMY
Our raw materials come from the forest, resources that the forestry industry struggles to profit from, such as fine wood, sawdust, or log edges. With these excellent materials, we turn them into a resource to grow gourmet mushrooms and provide employment for people with functional diversity.
After harvesting, we use the spent substrate to produce high-quality compost, which local organic farmers apply to their fields, thus regenerating soil life. In this way, we return to the earth what we take from the forest, improving agricultural crops and the soil’s diversity and richness.
We contribute to promoting regenerative agriculture, which is based on restoring soil health and keeping it productive for as long as possible, in order to prevent the expansion of agricultural operations into new areas.
